Val di Fassa: in the garden of King Laurino

The stages: Canazei, Campitello, Pozza, Vigo, Soraga, Moena

The itinerary starts in Canazei, a famous tourist resort at the foot of the magnificent Dolomiti’s massif. The first stage is the shop Sottobosco Prodotti Tipici Trentini Selezionati, which specializes in original workmanship involved in the maturing of local cheeses. Then you can continue towards Campitello, beneath the imposing peaks of the Sassolungo and the Col Rodella. Here you can visit the Caseificio Sociale di Campitello, famous producer of the Nostrano di Fassa, available in different stages of maturity with incomparable aromas. This cheese is special when combined with the honey of Sommavilla’s beekeeping and it's sold at the Caseificio. Now you can go down to Pozza di Fassa, where you can visit the Casa del Formaggio, specializing in the sale of cheeses and gastronomic delights of Trentino’s cuisine. Near to the centre there is the Museo Ladino di Fassa: its display rooms give hospitality to a series of stages from the territory that guide you to the discovery of old trades and traditions. In the neighbourhood, in the magic village of Vigo, you can find the Istituto Culturale Ladino di Fassa. A visit to these buildings is equivalent to the discovery of an ancient and unique world, still alive in this area. Crossing the delicious village of Soraga, you finally reach Moena, the last stage in the search for the taste and atmosphere of an authentic dinner...maybe with King Laurino! This itinerary turns out equally pleasant even if covered in the opposite direction.
