Primiero: the flavors of the past

You depart from San Martino di Castrozza, a famous tourist resort at the end of the 1800's, placed between the homonumos Pale and the mountain range of Lagorai. Going down towards the valley, you reach Siror for the first stage at the Macelleria Bonelli, historical producer of Carne Fumàda di Siror, boasting the local authentic tradition, and Trentino’s lucanica. You can continue towards Tonadico where the streets of the centre will guide you to the historical Palazzo Scopoli, in the past the head office of the Primiero’s Captain of Justice. San Vittore’s church and Castel Pietra represent the background of a fantastic excursion among nature, tradition and legend, originating from the ancient building. Through a series of stages discover the Prete delle Api and many other curious histories, the path Tonadico-Cimerlo leads to the beautiful Val Canali, reachable also by car or by bus. This is the ideal destination to grant you a greedy break with old recipes revisited with elegance and imagination. In the afternoon you can visit Villa Welsperg, from 1996 head office of the Parco Naturale di Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino. Display rooms, didactic laboratories, a botanical garden and many activities make it a place suitable for adults and children. In the evening you can finally return to enjoy the atmosphere and the flavours of the characteristic villages and historical centres of Primiero.
