Production of cheese
Tipology Itinerary
Passo Rolle - Località Juribello - Val Venegia - Passo Rolle
To the heart of the Violins’ Forest, among peaks and enchanting landscapes, this itinerary meanders between shepard's huts secrets on which the quality of our products are based. You can cover this itinerary on foot or by bicycle, immersed in the Parco Naturale di Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino, through Val Venegia, heavenly placed in the Dolomiti where nature and gastronomy melt into a sweet harmony made of colours, tastes, perfumes, magic silences and endless emotions. You can depart from Passo Rolle where you take the path and, after an hour and a half of easy walking, you reach Malga Juribello. Here, every Tuesday, you can learn the traditional techniques used for the production of cheese through a guided tour from the stable to the product: a discovery for adults and children. From here, you can continue towards Val Venegia. An hour of downhill road later, come out from the wood and crossing the Travignolo torrent, you reach Malga Venegia, where you can have a lovely snack with cheeses and small fruits produced by the farm itself. After the break take the forest road that crosses the valley, immersed in one of the most enchanting of alpine scenes. A little slope near Cimon della Pala will take you up to Baita Segantini, then, go down again towards Passo Rolle. After a long walk you can grant yourself the due relaxation, reaching, immediately at the foot of the pass, Malga Rolle, an ideal place for a break with the cheeses produced by the Caseificio Sociale di Primiero, sold at the shepard's huts. All the while waiting for a beautiful sunset on the Pale di San Martino. Because this is a circular itinerary, it is possible to cover it departing from Val Venegia.
