WINE AND FLAVOURS ROADS OF TRENTINO

Road of Wine and Flavours of the Piana Rotaliana
The Road of Wine and Flavours is a journey planned to accompany the tourist hand in hand throughout the discovery the Piana Rotaliana, its people and its produce.
In May 2006 more that 50 operators, tourist and non-tourist, gathered as the Association of the "Road of Wine and Flavours of the Piana Rotaliana", committing to following strict regulations which guarantee quality in products and hospitality.
Speaking of typical products, we must begin with the king of wines in the Trentino Region, Teroldego Rotaliano D.O.C. The red grapes of this famous wine come right from the sandy and alluvial plains of the Piana Rotaliana, and particularly from the countryside of Mezzocorona, Mezzolombardo and Grumo-San Michele all'Adige. This wine received the D.O.C. brand (Denominazione di Origine Controllata, or "controlled place name," indicating details about where a wine comes from, the grapes used in it and how it was produced) in 1971. Vineyards as well as cellars and wineries producing Teroldego decorate the local landscape, giving you the impression that you are in a real wine heaven when you drive along this road.
Another typical product of this area is the Zambana Asparagus which is white, soft, delicate and has an unmistakable taste.
Also Rovere' della Luna, San Michele all'Adige and Nave San Rocco are part of this Road of Wine and Flavours of the Piana Rotaliana. Each area boasts its typical production which offers, in addition to the noble Teroldego Rotaliano D.O.C., the Spumante Metodo Classico, the Trentino Grappa, the Pinot Grigio and the Red Delicious apple.
The only thing to do, in the end, is to be fascinated by the show of this great plain and enjoy the adventure of going along small streets and towns to explore and taste the many typical products.
